A professional cleaning (prophylaxis) removes the plaque and tartar that brushing at home cannot reach. We introduce each instrument before using it — the spinning brush, the little “straw” that sucks up water — and the child takes part by choosing the fluoride flavor.

3. Polishing with prophylaxis paste.

For children with intense anxiety, conscious sedation with nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) can be considered. It keeps the child relaxed, awake and breathing on their own.
